Simone Boyd
Simone is a Master’s student in Psychology. She is studying developmental psychopathology to better understand the etiology (causes) and maintenance of depression and suicidality. When Simone is not in lab, she enjoys working out, watching movies, and going to museums.
Sarah Mincer
Sarah is a graduate student in the Interdepartmental Doctoral Program in Anthropological Sciences. Her research focuses on the evolution of tail length and tail loss in primates and other mammals to better understand why humans and other apes lost their tails.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys running, playing with her foster kittens, and teaching science to children.

Amanda Russo
Amanda is a PhD candidate in the Integrative Neuroscience Program in the Psychology Department. She is studying the neural mechanisms underlying learning and memory with a rodent model. Her work can lead to an increased understanding of how to treat fear-based disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder.
HyeYun Park
HyeYun is a PhD student in Physics and Astronomy. She came to Stony Brook after graduating from the Ewha Womans University in South Korea. She is studying cosmology and instrumentation of the LSST telescope at Brookhaven National Laboratory.
Her main interest is to better measure shape distortion from weak lensing by correcting error from the atmosphere and the devices. Apart from work, she has hundreds of hobbies, including painting, crochet, cooking, reading, gardening, and playing with Semo the cat.
